About the project
Kasarmikatu 21 is the name of a new office and business complex in the very center of Helsinki. On the site of the demolished government building, an impressive example of modern architecture has emerged, which impresses both outside and inside with the use of high-quality materials: natural stone, wood, and glass. The restrained exterior facade made of Jura Travertin limestone makes the building attractive and recognizable in the area. The light shade of the 3 cm thick matte cladding panels of Jura Travertin, along with large stained glass windows, gives the building an elegant and timeless appearance. The lightness and naturalness of the limestone continue in the interior finishes of the building. Jura Travertin stone, in long strips 2 cm thick, is used for the flooring and also for the cladding of the interior walls. Jura Travertin limestone, rough grinding 2,600 m² In combination with wood and glass, this combination creates a unified stylish atmosphere in the public space. The slabs were anchored to the substructure using Fischer undercut anchors.
