Museum Peter August Böckstiegel

About the project
The new museum Peter August Böckstiegel unexpectedly rises above the hilly landscape of Arrode - a district of the city of Werther. In the middle of an orchard, close to the author's parental home, there is a modern building made of Fossil Smoke limestone. With its facade of natural polished stone 4 cm thick, the one-story mansion fits into the surrounding environment. The sketch of the museum - the multifaceted design, without right angles and with sloping walls required the stone processor to make not only drip edges, cuts along the long sides, and polished ends but also numerous cuts at various angles. The slabs were attached using anchors to the substructure.
